Color Theory explores the “power still unknown but real” that color has upon human perception and emotion. This connection is regularly exploited in commercial advertising and with Color Theory I seek to return it to a more personal, intimate, and meaningful setting.
To achieve this, portraits are styled around concepts within color theory (complements, triads, temperature) and created with deliberate expression by the subject of their personal conceptions of the colors inhabited. The resulting images are rendered with a richer, more painterly palette.
