Fifth Labor Photography is the home of F.R. Latimer, a photographer based in Los Angeles. His fine art work focuses on portraiture and incorporates multiple genres from editorial to street to fashion. His commercial work focuses on ‘Industry’ work as a unit still and headshot photographer.
His debut was the ‘Transcontinental’ series of portraits from his ongoing project “City Upon a Hill: Hopes in America.” This inaugural series of portraits and interviews was created over the Fall and Winter of 2017 as he spent weeks traversing the full breadth of the Continental United States by train. Selections from this first series was exhibited at Thymele Arts in Hollywood California in 2018.
He is a founding member of Few, but Roses – a Queer Artists’ Collective based in Los Angeles. With Few, but Roses he has organized its series of biannual exhibitions, beginning in Spring of 2024, featuring the work of the collective’s members. These exhibitions have seen the debuts of his more recent projects, “Color Theory” and “Life in Monochrome,” in which he experiments with color and its influence on our perception of the world and ourselves.
